Teaching

Experience

Professor Lukasik has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in English, American Studies, and Visual Studies at Purdue University, Universität Passau (Germany), Boston University, the University of the Philippines, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Washington (Seattle). He has won over 20 teaching awards including the Kenneth T. Kofmehl Undergraduate Teaching Award at Purdue University, 


He has been a leader in curricular innovation at the university level, having developed nine new interdisciplinary courses for the Department of English, the American Studies program, and the University Honors Program at Purdue University. In 2011, Prof. Lukasik taught the first graduate seminar in Visual Studies ever to be offered at Purdue and, a year later, he revised it to become the first ever undergraduate course in Visual Studies at Purdue. His innovative work in the area of Visual Studies has been recognized with invitations to lead american literature seminars at the Universität Passau (Germany) and to help develop a curriculum at the University of Graz (Austria) in 2018.
